LIVE: Rangers vs Celtic

K. Roofe

Goal

Rangers

26′ Goal Kemar Roofe

C. McGregor

Yellow Card

Celtic

24′ McGregor catches Kent with a late challenge and goes into the book.

23′ A neat move by Celtic culminates in Turnbull crossing into the box. But his centre is not the best and easily gathered by McGregor.

21′ Of course, Rangers are looking to maintain their perfect home record in the Scottish Premiership this season. Gerrard’s side have won all 17 league games at Ibrox, but Celtic will be desperate to ruin that today.

19′ Barisic embarks on a strong run down the left flank before sending his cross into the box. It is headed away but only as far as Kent, who snatches at his volley and sends it into the stands.

J. Simpson

Yellow Card

Rangers

17′ Simpson receives the first yellow card of the game after accidentally catching Edouard with a trailing arm.

15′ Get out of the way! Forrest cuts inside from the right wing before letting fly with his left foot. His vicious strike is on target, but Turnbull unwittingly gets in the way and deflects it away from goal.

13′ No player has been directly involved in more Scottish Premiership goals than Tavernier this season. The Rangers full-back has scored 11, while providing nine assists.

11′ CHANCE! Tavernier with the first opportunity to get forward and whip a dangerous ball across the face of goal. Morelos arrives at the far post, but is unable to turn it home.

9′ The hosts continue to apply the pressure and Aribo has a chance to shoot. However, Welsh is well-placed to block his effort.

8′ Rangers look to threaten at the other end with Kent sending a low cross into the box, but McGregor is there to clear for Celtic.

6′ Celtic arrive at Ibrox winless in their last three away league games. You must go back to May 2013 for the last time they went four on the road without winning in the Scottish Premiership.

4′ It has been a bright start by Celtic, who force a corner. But the Rangers defence stay alert and stand firm to keep their opponents at bay.

2′ A loose pass by Kamara inside his own penalty area invites unnecessary pressure on Rangers, who just about recover to clear the danger.

1′ The referee blows his whistle and Celtic get us underway!

The players are out and kick-off is moments away.

Rangers have certainly enjoyed the better of the recent history between these sides. They have won four of their five home games against Celtic under Gerrard; keeping a clean sheet in each of the victories.

Interim boss John Kennedy also makes just a couple of alterations from Celtic’s 1-1 draw with Aberdeen last week. James Forrest and Kristoffer Ajer are fit to start, with Nir Bitton and Ryan Christie dropping to the bench. Albian Ajeti and Mikey Johnston are also back from injury and take their place among the substitutes, as Scott Brown plays his final Old Firm derby.

Steven Gerrard makes two changes from Rangers’ Scottish Cup quarter-final defeat by St Johnstone last weekend. Jack Simpson makes his Old Firm debut in the heart of defence, and there is also a recall for Kemar Roofe. Filip Helander and Scott Arfield have been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Leon Balogun, Ryan Jack and Nikola Katic are also unavailable.
