Top 10 Best Male Volleyball Players for 2020-2021
10. Ricardo Lucarelli Souza
Since 2013, Lucarelli has become a formidable threat on the outside as a hitter. He helped Brazil take the bacon in the World Champions Grand Cup and the South American Championships. His home country finished second in the FIVB World League. In Rio Olympics 2016, Brazil bagged the gold with Ricardo in the front line. He’s only 26, and the world has yet to see his powerful spikes that are unguardable and feared by many teams.
9. Pavel Kruglov
A skillful and artistic spiker in both corners, Kruglov has already impressed many fans with his Russian team Dinamo Moscow. The Russian is only 33 years old and has pocketed the MVP Award of the CEV Cup. Expect more of him in the Tokyo Olympics.
8. Mateusz Mika
Polish spiker Mika is one of the most exciting players to see this 2021. An impressive addition to the 2014 Polish lineup, his smooth touches and spikes got the best of his opponents during the World Championship. Coach Antiga will use Mika to exploit more teams like a bioweapon, who wrecks anyone who stands in front of him.
7. Ivan Zaytsev
Italy has a gem in Ivan, one of the best players to play in Italia. Although Ivan has Russian blood, he stuck to Italy through the World Championship stint despite an ankle injury in 2014. The fourth-place finish left a mark on Zaytsev, and he needed some time before returning to the game. He returned in 2019, and volleyball enthusiasts should look forward to more of Ivan this year.
6. Max Holt
Volleywood could not be prouder with the emergence of the American Max Holt. Known as “Thunder Holt,” he is one of the best middle blockers among today’s male volleyball players.Holt gave the U.S. team a good run as they sealed third place in the World League. Together with 2008 Olympic champion David Lee, the duo became popular even in the World Championships. “Thunder Holt” was a former teammate of Ivan Zaystsev in Dinamo Moscow. They won the CEV Cup for one season.

5. Facundo Conte
From being an outside hitter to an opposite attacker, Conte just became more dangerous than before. An Argentine player with huge versatility, Conte has all the tools in both the offense and defense of Argentina in the upcoming Olympics.In CEV 2015, Conte was the best outside spiker and the best receiver in the Polish Cup 2016. What else can you ask for from Conte?
4. Saeid Marouf
Marouf, an Iranian volleyball prodigy, made headlines following his accolades, including the CEV Cup, Russian League, and Russian Cup. As the captain of the national team, Marouf is set to carry the Asian squad past powerhouse European and American volleyball teams. One of the best setters to ever play in the current league, Marouf will surely tour you through his tricky placings that will leave you confused for a second.
3. Earvin N’Gapeth
France will lift a bullet for Ngapeth during his 2014 World Championship run. A gifted player, Earvin N’Gapeth has bagged the CEV European Championship and France FIVB World League twice. In two tournaments, he was declared the MVP. If Earvin continues to show his huge power in delivering heavy hits, it’s guaranteed that different teams will have a hard time in his battle on-court.
2. Gavin Schmitt
There was a time that Schmitt was named MVP, the Best Scorer, the Best Server, and the Best Spiker in just one league. A time came when Canada needed a scoring machine, and Schmitt rose to the occasion and pulled several attacks on the opposing team.Here’s a video of Gavin when he was playing in the Korean V-League in 2009-2010.
1. Wilfredo Leon
Leon was compared to Cristiano Ronaldo. He played for the Cuban national team in 2012 until he left to join Poland in 2019. With Zenit Kazan, Leon won four Russian Cups, four Russian Championships, four FIVB Club World Championships, four Champions League titles, and three Russian Supercup titles. In Kazan, he earned over €1.200.000 per season. Leon is currently playing for Perugia.
